Why do you need to strike a better work life balance

Have you been having trouble managing your work life balance lately? If so, you're certainly not alone. Many people have difficulty trying to succeed at both their job and at home, but it's important that you try your best to do so before you burn out. According to a work life balance article published by Forbes, some individuals who put too much focus on work may find that they permanently damage their bodies and lose some of the most important relationships in the lives. 

The news source spoke to Gayle Porter, Ph.D., professor of Management at the Rutgers School of Business, who explained a little more about why it's important to spread your time evenly between work and home. 

"Getting satisfaction from work is a great thing, but there is a line that can be crossed where it's the only thing. When that line is crossed, it becomes harder to cope and bounce back," Porter told Forbes.

The Mayo Clinic stated that a poor work life balance may lead to fatigue and lost time with loved ones, which is why you need to learn to say "no" whenever possible at work. Sometimes, it may be better to get things done at home before you focus on work.
